1976 Toyota Land Cruiser FJ45 rebuild

I started the rebuild of the Land Cruiser in May 2013. Unfortunately, I forgot to take photos along the way. I Upgraded the cruiser by adding a power steering unit from a Toyota Hilux / 4Runner. Stainless Steel branches, which I also built myself. The only thing that I had help with was the bead blasting and laser cutting. The rest was all done by me, including the spray-painting and rewiring. Here are some of the photos. I will take more photos along the way with my next rebuild.

My First Rebuild - 1965 Land Rover Series IIA

Here are a couple of photos before the whole rebuild process took place. The whole thing that sparked it off was a door that would not stop rattling no matter what I did.

I got home and decided that I would fix the door on the weekend. So early on Saturday I got stuck in to fixing the doors and look what happened . . .

As I was stripping everything, my wife came out and asked - "And now??", I replied that the doors where rattling - the smile must have been a "What the heck have I done???"
I sent in the chassis and all the parts for bead blasting, below are all the parts before.

I forgot to take photos of the body panels after but the photos below are of the chassis.

Below are the photos after the base and top coats where applied to the chassis and bodywork.

After the rebuild I had to replace the normal diff to an ENV diff because I broke a half shaft in a parking lot of all places. From that day, she never gave me a moments grief. I will forever have fond memories of her.
